Joseph Russoniello
Joseph P. Russoniello〔Cooley Godward Kronish LLP, ("Joseph Russoniello, Senior Counsel" ), June 19, 2007〕 (born October 12, 1941) is an American attorney who recently served as the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California after being appointed by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the United States Senate in 2007. Russoniello served his first term from 1982 to 1990 after being appointed by President Ronald Reagan and confirmed by the United States Senate.
==Education and early career==
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Russoniello graduated from Saint Peter's Preparatory School in Jersey City, NJ, in 1959. He received a J.D. degree from New York University Law School in 1966 and a B.S.S. degree from Fairfield University in 1963. After graduating from the NYU School of Law Russoniello was appointed a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and later served as an Assistant District Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco before joining Cooley Godward Kronish LLP in 1975.
